About Prof. Dr. Alexander Bassen: Prof. Dr. Alexander Bassen is Professor of Capital Markets and Corporate Management at the University of Hamburg, Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. He teaches in the areas of Investment and Finance as well as Sustainable Finance and Accounting. He is a member of EFRAG's Sustainability Reporting Board, Inaugural Chair of the Independent Standards Board of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, a member of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU) and an observer on the German government's Sustainable Finance Advisory Council. He was also a member of the EFRAG Project Task Force EU Sustainability Reporting Standard (PTF ESRS), the German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE) and the G7 Impact Task Force. He is also an Honorary Research Associate at the University of Oxford (Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment) and a visiting professor at Hong Kong Baptist University and Henley Business School (Reading, UK). He also heads the BMBF accompanying project "Sustainable Finance and Climate Protection" (SFCP), which comprises 14 projects from various universities. He is also a member of several advisory committees for sustainable finance.
